Settled calmly at the foot of the magnificent Fiz Mountains in the Alps, the village of Chamonix is steeped in authenticity, standing guard over the valley and providing a magnificent vista across to its 'big brother' Mont Blanc.Chamonix was home to the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924 and has been growing as a world class ski destination ever since. The region, which is in the heart of the French Alps near Switzerland and Italy, is comprised of 354 ski runs connecting the towns of St Gervais les Bains, Chamonix, Les Houches, Courmayeur, Servoz, Pré St Didier, Les Contamines Montjoie, La Thuile. Chamonix offers a multitude of slopes for all abilities. With elevations reaching 15,781 feet there is a combination of wide open spaces for easy skiing and panoramic views, as well as tree skiing and glacier runs for black diamond skiers. In addition, the lower mountain provides excellent beginner slopes. Ski the entire 7 days or take advantage of some incredible sightseeing options including a full day tour of Lake Geneva ($68 per person), a day tour of Montreaux ($58 per person) or a ski day at Verbier ($34 per person). Pricing for these trips is based on a minimum of 20 people.Hotel Alpina is a modern hotel with old world charm and service in the heart of Chamonix. The hotel features a roof top restaurant, a bar, 24-hour front desk, non-smoking rooms, an elevator, safety deposit box, and luggage and ski storage. In addition, we will be participating in a dine around program for dinner that allows us to visit a selection of three additional restaurants.
