Extravaganza Rocked the House!

By all accounts, Extravaganza rocked. This season represents us nearing our 50th Anniversary of Atlanta Ski Club and we celebrated with a special cake. The festivities took place at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant; a great venue located adjacent to the DeKalb Peachtree Airport.

I have attended many of the Season Openers since joining the club in 1996. Familiar faces and newcomers were well represented. Trip Coordinators were on hand to answer any questions about the trips.

The all volunteer Board and Trip Coordinators of ASC did a great job in choosing the venue, the appetizers, and offering informative trip presentations. The trip line-up for the 50th season was chosen to include the most popular destinations of recent years.

Some trips are 50% sold including Grand Canyon. Don‘t forget the Grayton Beach trip over Labor Day weekend. Save money- cash discount option for ski trips expires on Sept 9, 2013.

My ASC Journal

As I look back on 17 years of skiing with the Atlanta Ski Club, it is easy to appreciate all the planning and thought that goes into the trips. Every trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to join the club on many occasions.

My unforgettable experiences with ASC include the comradarie of the members at locations abroad; Europe and South America. Trips abroad usually include breakfast and 4 or 5 course dinners in the dining room of your hotel. The culinary experience in the hotel and on the mountain is fantastic. I have been successful at finding recipes to match the finest cuisine in Europe. My favorites are Paella (Barcelona), Weiner schnitzel (Vienna), and Beef Bourginon (French Alps).
