ZELL AM SEE – AUSTRIA
MUNICH & DUBAI
WHY NOT TREAT YOURSELF TO THE GOOD LIFE?
LET’S GO SKIING IN AUSTRIA THIS YEAR !!!!
Zell Am See has all the old world European charm, incredible scenery and fantastic off piste skiing. Established by monks around the middle of the eighth century, the village of Zell Am See is situated on the shore of Lake Zell, under a backdrop of the Austrian Alps. Lake Zell is a deep glacial lake in the shape of a peanut, with clear Alpine waters. The town is one of the most popular tourist resorts in the Middle Pinzgau of Austria and is always bustling with tourists in every season. The historic village, with many ancient buildings, including the Castle of Kaprun, located in such a magnificent setting, make Zell am See one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Land Salzburg. Express trains from Innsbruck arrive every hour and depart for Salzburg every hour as well. So if you want to do a little exploring the possibilities are there. The 138 kilometers of pistes, and a unique offering of activities away from the trails, make this region one of the most sought after destinations in Europe.
Any ski pass you purchase will allow you to Ski both the Zell am See ski area and also the Kaprun ski area. These ski areas allow you to ski between altitudes of 3000 feet and 8000 feet above sea level. A free shuttle bus runs between the two ski areas every 15 minutes during ski season. There are total runs of 138 kilometers. The longest run being 8 kilometers and there are 57 lifts, with an additional 300 kilometers of cross country skiing. There are 31 beginner runs, 19 intermediate runs, and 9 expert runs on the marked ski map. The local mountains of Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhohe are ideal for descending down into the valley on superb powder snow. This area is renowned for its off piste skiing which would be classified as advanced. So there is plenty of skiing for everyone!
The entire group will have a full day for sight-seeing in Munich, Germany at the end of the ski week and we plan to offer an optional evening tour of Bavarian Beer and Food. Those participants joining us on the Dubai extension will have another full day in Munich with time for an optional tour to the Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof.
Dubai is the quintessential home of sand, sun, and shopping. A century ago it was a tranquil port of Bedouin traders and pearl divers. Today, the merchants have gone international deluxe, and science fiction skyscrapers stand alongside the mosques and wind-towers of Old Dubai. Optional excursions are available for romantic desert safaris by camel or adrenaline-charged dune buggy tours. We will have 3 full days to explore its mysteries or just relax on its beaches. (over)
