Overlooking the sapphire-blue waters of Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Ski Resort is one of the most unique snow sports destinations on the planet. With a higher elevation, and the most skiable terrain in the area, Heavenly has more hidden glades to explore and groomers to rip than any other Lake Tahoe resort. Heavenly Resort has a mix of terrain for all abilities but in particular it’s an intermediates’ paradise and a mecca for advanced tree skiing with the odd steep thrown in for good measure. Ski Nevada on one run, and then go skiing in California on the next. With views of beautiful Lake Tahoe and the snowy mountain forests on the one side, and views of the arid desert on the other side, Heavenly is a resort of many contrasts. Since Heavenly is also a part of Vail Resorts, the Epic Pass is accepted.

A perch that's a block from the gondola, plus free breakfasts at the on-site restaurant, an indoor pool and a ski valet entice guests at the non-smoking Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. The nine-story, non-smoking Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel has the look of a European chateau, complete with turrets and porches. Each of its 400 traditionally decorated accommodations features separate bedroom and living areas, plus a sofa bed, two flat-panel TVs, Wi-Fi and a kitchenette. Guests grab free breakfast at the on-site restaurant before getting outfitted by the ski valet. After hitting the slopes, they return to unwind in the indoor pool and hot tub. Corporate types who need to stay in touch with the office are happy to know the resort has a business center. Abundant amenities include a concierge, laundry facilities, valet parking for a fee and room service. Literally on the border of California and Nevada, the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel is a short walk from the Heavenly Mountain Gondola. Guests can also walk five minutes to reach the cinema, several restaurants, shops and the bus stop. Astounding landscapes surround the resort town, including at Lower Eagle Falls, a half-hour away, and at Pope Beach, 20 minutes away on the shores of Lake Tahoe.
