Big Sky, Montana
Big Sky Resort is known for giving skiers and riders access to more skiing than anywhere else in the United States. Located in south central Montana, about fifty miles south of Bozeman, Big Sky provides visitors with updated amenities, a well developed infrastructure and over 5,750 acres of skiable terrain.
Big Sky Resort
Join the Atlanta Ski Club for an unforgettable Western ski adventure to Big Sky, one of North America’s premier mountain destinations. Known for its wide-open terrain, low lift lines, and dramatic views of the surrounding Montana wilderness, Big Sky delivers a true big-mountain skiing experience without the crowds often found at other major resorts. The scale of the terrain is remarkable—offering over 5,800 acres of skiable area—with long, sweeping groomers, steep expert lines, and expansive bowls that seem to go on forever. It’s the kind of place where every run feels like an expedition, framed by endless skies and rugged peaks.
The skiing experience here is anchored by Big Sky Resort, which connects seamlessly into the iconic terrain of Lone Peak via high-speed tram access. Advanced skiers will find challenging chutes, cliffs, and technical descents, while intermediates can enjoy beautifully maintained runs that stretch for miles with consistent pitch and flow. Beginners are equally well served, with dedicated learning areas and wide, forgiving terrain that make progression comfortable and enjoyable. What truly sets Big Sky apart is the sense of space—there is always another ridge, bowl, or untouched line waiting just beyond the next lift.
Our home for this incredible trip will be the classic slope-side Huntley Lodge, offering convenient ski-in/ski-out access and a warm, welcoming mountain atmosphere. The lodge blends rustic Montana charm with modern comfort, making it an ideal base after full days on the mountain. Members can unwind in the outdoor hot tubs, gather around the fireplace in the lodge lobby, or enjoy après-ski just steps from the lifts. Evenings in Big Sky are relaxed and social, with hearty mountain dining and a laid-back vibe that perfectly complements the scale and beauty of the skiing.
If you enjoy a day off from skiing, a trip to Yellowstone is a splendid one-day diversion. Experience the majesty of Yellowstone on a guided snowmobile trip or take an easy trip in an enclosed all-terrain vehicle.
