Join the Atlanta Ski Club for an unforgettable alpine escape to Zermatt, one of the most iconic ski destinations in the world. Nestled at the base of the Matterhorn, Zermatt combines high-alpine scenery with one of the most extensive and reliable ski networks in the Alps. The resort spans multiple interconnected sectors—Sunnegga-Rothorn, Gornergrat, and the glacier-accessed Klein Matterhorn—offering terrain that stretches across Switzerland and even links into Italy’s Cervinia region. With elevations reaching over 12,000 feet on the glacier, skiing here is known for its long season, exceptional snow reliability, and dramatic panoramic views that seem to follow you down every run.
What makes Zermatt especially distinctive is the variety of terrain within a single destination. Beginners and intermediates will find wide, confidence-building pistes above Sunnegga, while more advanced skiers can explore long cruising runs from the Gornergrat ridge or venture into higher alpine terrain with sustained vertical descents. The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise area offers high-altitude skiing nearly year-round, while the connection into Cervinia opens up additional mileage and a completely different perspective of the same mountain massif. Between runs, skiers are treated to mountain restaurants with sweeping views, efficient lift systems, and a pedestrian village that preserves the charm and quiet atmosphere of a true alpine town—no cars, just electric taxis and horse-drawn transport.
Our home for this exceptional trip will be the stylish 4-star Hotel Alex, a boutique property known for its blend of alpine charm and modern comfort. The hotel’s inviting spa, cozy lounges, and convenient central village location make it an ideal base after a full day on the slopes. Evenings can be spent enjoying Swiss cuisine, relaxing by the fire, or strolling through Zermatt’s charming streets, creating the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation for an unforgettable ski club experience. Milan Extension
For those looking to extend the adventure beyond the Alps, the Atlanta Ski Club trip continues into Milan—a vibrant blend of history, fashion, and modern Italian energy. After the mountain serenity of Zermatt, Milan offers a striking change of pace with its grand architecture, lively streets, and world-renowned cultural landmarks. Members can explore the magnificent Duomo di Milano, visit Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, stroll through the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, or enjoy the city’s renowned café culture and exceptional dining scene. Whether it’s an afternoon of cultural highlights or designer shopping, an evening aperitivo in the Brera district, or simply soaking in the cosmopolitan atmosphere, Milan provides the perfect stylish and cultural finale to an unforgettable European ski journey. We’ll be staying at the 4-star NH Hotel Milano Touring.

There are 2 types of single supplement rooms available for Zermatt, each in limited amounts. If you want a single supplement, please state the option you would like in the “Additional Information for Trip Leader” field on the trip signup page, and advise if you want the other type of single supplement room if your first choice is no longer available. Regardless of their size, both types are Hotel Alex quality.
