This trip offers amazing skiing of the Dolomites in the Trentino region of Northern Italy, including easy access via Val di Fassa to the Sella Ronda Superski Circuit and its four interconnected ski areas. We’ll be based in the village of Canazei, known as the “jewel of the Dolomites Superski area,” and the only town in the Fassa valley truly located on the Sella Ronda Circuit. We’re staying at the historic four star Hapsburg period-style hotel in the heart of Canazei, the Schloss Hotel Dolomiti, a 2020 Trip Advisor Traveler’s Award Winner. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel are included, as well as two nights of live music. The gondola up to Val di Fassa is .3 miles from our Hotel, and there is bus service from in front of the hotel. The scenery at Canazei will knock your ski boots off – it is surrounded by the most spectacular and famous Dolomite peaks, which ice and wind have modeled into the steep walls, towering spires and daring pinnacles typical of the Dolomite mountains, and the beauty is further enhanced at sunset when the sun’s rays set the rocks alight and turn them to a warm red color. Canazei also offers other snow activities, including ice climbing, paragliding, and snowshoeing. And it has a robust night life and restaurant scene.
Also included in the trip is a day at Cortina, the site of the 1956 winter Olympics (and upcoming 2026 ones), where you can ski or spend the day visiting the town. Situated in an alpine valley on the Boite river, it’s a winter sport resort known for its skiing trails, scenery, shops and après-ski scene, and for its jet set and aristocratic European crowd.
About the Sella Ronda Circuit
The Sella Ronda Circuit is the ski tour of the four Dolomite Passes around the Sella massif, one of the most spectacular of the world. The tour can be done easily in one day, passing through the four valleys: Val di Fassa , Val Gardena, Alta Badia, and Arabba. It can be done clockwise or counter-clockwise, starting from any of the four valleys (including our valley – Val di Fassa). The Sella Ronda tour can be done by skiers of intermediate level.
In addition to doing the Sella Ronda Circuit, each valley is a ski area in its own right, totaling over 700 miles of ski runs serviced by over 400 lifts and gondolas, with 30% for beginners, 60 % intermediate and 10% expert. And each valley has its villages, restaurants and local culture. One lift ticket covers all these ski areas as well as Cortina.

We’ll be staying for three nights at the Hotel Carlton Grand right on the Grand Canal. Breakfast is included. The Hotel Carlton Grand occupies a truly strategic position with regard to all the points of access to the city. Also included is the private water taxi that will pick us up at the airport and take us to the hotel, as well as a luggage service to transfer our bags. The return transfer to the airport for our departure is also included. Price of Venice Extension - $450, single supplement for Venice Extension, - $160.

Participants that have not paid in full by final payment deadlines will be subject to replacement and will be charged the standard $300 per person cancellation fee or the greater amount if any fees passed on to the club by the travel operators if greater than cancellation fee.
